Foreign tourist arrivals to Albania up 52% y/y in Apr

The affordable prices, the stunning beaches and the rich culture are some of the reasons which have attracted foreign tourists into the country this year. Albania has turned into a summer holiday destination and the internet has been an important tool in promoting the country's beauties.

According to the country's office for statistics, INSTAT, the number of foreigners who visited the country in the first four months of the year was 1.7 million. In April, the number of foreign arrivals was 614 thousand, up 52% compared to the same period last year.

Tourism experts say Albania has now turned into one of the most attractive destinations for foreign visitors. However, according to them, this sector is facing a labour shortage and businesses operating in the tourism industry will not be able to cope with the high demand.
