Central bank keeps key rate unchanged

The head of the Albanian central bank, Gent Sejko said today that inflation in November and December 2022 declined, while economic activity continued to grow in the second half of year.  According to him,  trends are expected to continue in the next quarters as well.

Governor Sejko announced that the country's central bank has decided to maintain key interest rate unchanged at 2.75%.  According to him, the bank's Supervisory Committee has noted that  inflationary pressures continue to remain elevated and the further normalisation of monetary policy in future is needed to guaranteeing the return of inflation to target.
