Tirana, January 16, 2025 – Albania is one of the most affordable places to live in the Balkans. Monthly bills for water and electricity are just €85, only €2 more than Kosovo’s €83. Public transport is also cheap, with tickets costing only 40 lek (around 0.40 cents), while in Kosovo, prices can go up to €1.
In Montenegro, bills for energy, water, and transport are much higher, adding up to €110, with transport tickets priced at €1.
Compared to Europe, Albania is 30% cheaper. In Italy, utility bills can reach up to €311, and a bus ticket costs €1.60.
When it comes to capitals, Pristina is the cheapest, followed by Skopje, Tirana, and Podgorica.
