June 9, 2024 - The Albanian capital, Tirana has become a hub for contemporary art, with the recent exhibition of Andy Warhol's iconic pop art works at the Tirana Art Gallery. The exhibition, which opened on June 5, features 39 authentic works by the American artist, offering visitors a unique glimpse into the world of pop art.
The mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, praised the city's vibrant cultural scene, stating that Tirana has become the epicenter of beautiful events in the region.
"Today, we live in a time when the whole world is coming to Tirana," he said. "For those who have seen many of Andy Warhol's reproductions in the city's utility cabinets, now they have the opportunity to see 39 authentic works by the artist in Tirana."
The exhibition is part of Tirana's efforts to promote its cultural offerings, which include a range of activities such as concerts, festivals, and art exhibitions. "Today, this city does not only live with tourism, IT, but also with art and culture," Veliaj emphasized.
The exhibition is open to the public until August 5, and visitors can also attend other cultural events in the city, such as the "Agimi" cinema festival, the "Reja" festival, and the "Maks Velo" cinema in Laprakë.
